Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters (CRED)
  The CRED is a non-profit institution, with a fourfold goal: (1) to provide permanent support to research and relevant information to the international community with the aim of ensuring sufficient preparedness and an improved response to disasters; (2) to train field managers, relief officers, doctors and health professionals in the management of short and long term disasters; (3) to introduce emergency preparedness and response into the development programmes of disaster-prone countries and (4) to enhance the capabilities of developing countries to manage their own preparedness for emergencies.
